Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you use this website, what we use it for and who we share it with. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Controller
The controller responsible for processing data on this website is:
PAUL EFFORD AGSteinerstrasse 11

Please send questions about data protection and requests concerning your data to info@ralus.ag.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA) and delivered through Netlify's worldwide server network.
Each time a page is requested, Netlify records technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure and stable. We do not analyse it to identify individual visitors.
Language selection
If you open an address without a language in it, we choose the language from your browser's language setting. If that doesn't include one of the languages we offer, we use the country derived from your IP address. This information is used only for that choice and is not stored by us.
If you choose a language yourself, we save that choice in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE, valid for 12 months). It contains only the language code and makes sure you see the same language on your next visit. You can delete it in your browser at any time.
No analytics or tracking
Apart from the language cookie, we set no cookies. We use no analytics, tracking or advertising services and create no usage profiles.
Fonts and images are loaded directly from this website. Visiting it does not send any data to third parties such as font or image services.
RALUS Devices app
The RALUS Devices app (the pages under /devices and the collar pages under /alert) has its own privacy policy for RALUS Devices. It explains, among other things, how location data, health records and missing reports are processed and that the maps there are loaded from MapTiler (Switzerland).
Contact form and email
If you write to us through the contact form, we process the details you enter: first and last name, company, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. We use them solely to answer your enquiry and for any follow-up conversations.
The form details are sent to our mailbox through the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). To prevent abuse, your IP address is kept in memory for a few minutes when you submit the form, to limit repeated requests in quick succession. It is not stored permanently.
If you email us directly, we process your message and contact details for the same purpose.
Job applications
If you apply to us, we process the documents and details you send us solely for the application process. We delete unsuccessful applications once the process is complete, unless you have agreed to us keeping them longer.
Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data only for the purposes stated here: to provide and secure the website, to answer enquiries, and to prepare and perform contracts.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website and in communicating with interested parties (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Sharing and transfers abroad
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf (hosting, email delivery and email mailbox), or with authorities where we are legally required to.
Netlify and Resend are based in the USA, so data may also be processed there. Such transfers rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose requires or statutory retention obligations demand. We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with and no retention obligation applies. Server log files are deleted automatically by the hosting provider according to its own rules.
Data security
The connection to this website is always encrypted (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access and misuse.
Your rights
Within the scope of the applicable data protection law, you have in particular the right to:
- –be told whether and which personal data we process about you
- –have inaccurate personal data corrected
- –request the deletion of your personal data
- –object to the processing or request that it be restricted
- –receive your personal data in a common electronic format or have it transferred
- –withdraw any consent you have given at any time
An informal message to info@ralus.ag is enough. We may ask for proof of your identity. Statutory exceptions remain reserved.
You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).
Changes
We update this privacy policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published on this page applies.
